Falling in love

Taking portraits of people is like falling in love.
Maybe it is brief, maybe it is long term ..... but it still is falling in love with all exhilarating emotions and attention to a person and exclusion of everything else erupting in seconds.
I don't usually announce this to loudly, just in case it would be misinterpreted, but nevertheless it is falling in love.
With Rob it was sheer wildness of youthful (even if menacing) energy

With Harrison Birthwistle the observant gaze

This little Dutch girl was so charming that I could only adore her

But, to be honest, that manner of taking portraits comes more naturally for me, when I work with women.

And out of falling in love comes having fun together

Not forgetting intensity of being together

So let us prepare ourselves for May, the month of Loving

  1. so, in a way, our hands are healing and creative instruments without which many of us would be lost.! To capture them, like you do, is a reminder of that and kind of wakes us up!

  2. I fell in love at least twice today.
The first time I noticed a beautiful woman reading on the underground. I was sitting opposite her so I could observe her. Second time, different train, was a young man sitting next to me (aisle in between) with the most perfect skin and expressive blue eyes! I had wanted to give him my contact details as I didn't have my camera with me... but I didn't; aarrgghh.....

    falling in love...
